Balloon Meeting in San Giovanni / Tuscany

In June 2009, Matthias, Basti, his parents and three other members of the Balloon Club of Landshut took the long road to Tuscany to take part in the first Balloon Meeting in San Giovanni Valdarno, 30 km south-east of Florence.

The accomodation couldn't have been better: A nice, little hotel next to a beautiful lake was our place to stay for the four days. The organisers of the meeting were also very nice, and so we had a lot of fun - and a lot of delicious Italian food, too! :-)

The weather was also fine - however, winds were quite strong until late in the evenings, and so we decided to fly in the morning only - but three days in a row! So, in the evenings, we had lots of time for the model balloons - or for the already mentioned Italian food... ;-)

After four days, three balloon flights, a lot of sunshine and even more red wine, it was time to go home again. Basti and Matthias spent the entire journey at their notebooks playing "Anno 1602" - never before such a long journey seemed that short to us!
