Matthias' examination flight

After almost one year of training, Matthias was able to do the final hours of flying on the Easter weekend... and after the authorities had finished the documents almost unbelievably quickly (you just have to know how!), he could take off for his examination flight.

The scenario was already familiar to him: Just like with Bastian's examination flight half a year ago, the flight started very early in the morning at the historic Via Claudia in Gersthofen near Augsburg. Stefan Dolpp was the inspector, and a soft and happy landing took place one hour later south of Zusmarshausen.

The views from the balloon were just beautiful - the low sun and the morning mist in the valleys created magnificent pictures. Matthias' fellow Christian from Augsburg, a passenger on the flight, really enjoyed the atmosphere - at least until he got introduced with the traditional ceremony... ;-)

With his pilot's license, Matthias fulfilled himself a long-held dream - from now on, he will probably be seen up in the air just as often as his famous Penguin.
