The Balloon Meeting at Bad Griesbach traditionally is one of the highlights of
our balloon summer. Fot the third time in a row, the weather was just great once
more this year.
On the first evening already, we put up our model balloons on the square between
the hotels of Bad Griesbach.
On Friday morning we had the honour to come with Wolfgang Schwarz for one of the last flights of the "Gletscherprise" balloon. This aircraft, which has had over 460 flights altogether, was put out of order shortly after this ballooning weekend.
Wonderful sights and an exciting competition task were a lot of fun for us, although the landing was somewhat difficult: A lot of maize fields and power lines made it quite hard for us to find a proper landing site.
Saturday afternoon, it's usually go-kart time at Bad Griesbach! Any balloonists who like to, meet at a kart track near Bad Griesbach to gain some extra points for their team.
As you can imagine, my father Werner and I had kind of a tough fight ;-)
In the evening, it was time for the model balloons again at the park of Bad Griesbach. And of course, the kids were all around us!
The children were especially fascinated by our smallest balloon, the D-DINO.
And as it seems, things will be the same next year, because we are already
invited to come to the 11th Balloon Meeting at Bad Griesbach 2004! :-)
