24th Model Balloon Meeting at Brigachtal

With such a full schedule of balloon events throughout the year, it is only a question of time until some come to a collision - and so, Basti, Matthias and Maria only had a short visit at the Brigachtal Model Balloon Meeting 2009, until they continued to the Allgäu to celebrate the wedding of their balloon friends Thomas and Babsi. Werner, however, stayed at Brigachtal for all the weekend and provided us with many pictures of the event - many thanks to him and to all the busy photographers.

Although the weather was rather changeable, night glow on Friday at the Linachtalsperre could take place as scheduled. On Saturday, three competition flights were possible, and two on Sunday. Only the model balloon presentation at the childrens' hospital at Tannheim had to be postponed from Saturday evening to Sunday morning due to heavy rain.

With only one competition flight participation on Saturday morning, Basti and Matthias ended up far behind in the ranking, Werner at least made it for rank 17.
